Welcome to Miss Chadwick-Shaw's class.

Here are the teachers that work in Reception.

PE day is on a Thursday. 

We are all doing a fantastic job at settling into our new school! We have been learning lots about the routines and expectations of the classroom and have been following our visual timetable to help us see what is happening in the day and how long it is until home time!

We have started our carpet sessions, starting with phonics, where we start with lots of listening games before we begin our letters sounds. We have been singing lots of number rhymes in Maths. We have been reading stories in our afternoon session, particularly enjoying reading “Mabel and the mountain”, where we have learnt about persevering and not giving up so that we can try new challenges, just like we will be doing at school!

We have been exploring our new classroom, playing inside and outside and learning how to play with and what to do with the different objects and toys in each area. We have been introducing a little bit at a time to make sure we know how to play and look after our toys.

We love to play outside and will play outside in most weathers! We like to get outside even in the rain so we will get our wellies and waterproofs on!
