Music
One of the greatest gifts a child can have is the ability to perform or play a musical instrument.
This academic year we are continuing to provide pupils across the school with the opportunity to learn a musical instrument or join one of our performance clubs.
Pupils in KS2 i.e. Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 with the opportunity to develop skills in music and performance by including the following tuition in their curriculum studies:
Year 3 Half-class keyboard lessons
Year 4 Singing and inter-school choir competitions
Year 5 Cornet lessons
Year 6 Whole class Creative/Performing Arts and continuation Cornet lessons.
KS2 Recorder club
Pupils in Years 1 – 6 have the opportunity and encouragement to participate in the following subsidised musical instrument lessons in school:
- Drum, Guitar and Ukulele lessons – twenty minute peri tuition lessons provided weekly
- Keyboard lessons and the development of the school orchestra with Mr Phillips
Idle Little Cherries offer fun based Childrens Drama and Musical Theatre to a group of up to forty of our pupils each week.
Mrs Bigger holds a Dance club each Wednesday lunch-time in the hall.
