A very warm welcome to our school!
Our Vision Statement
For all to discover and develop their God-give talents, and flourish in the fullness of life Jesus came to give. (John 10v10).
As a parent, I can appreciate that you will have a number of thoughts, anxieties and aspirations as your child starts school. Can I assure you from the onset that the Staff and Governors of our school strive to achieve increasingly high standards in all aspects of school life, with our genuine aim being to provide an education which we would be happy for our own children to undertake.
We recognise that the education of your child needs to be a joint responsibility between home and school, based on mutual trust and understanding. Your confidence in our school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. To that end, we aim to keep you fully informed about all aspects of school life and I hope that you will use our ‘open door’ approach to share your concerns, compliments or queries which are so very much appreciated. Our pastoral staff are readily available, friendly and helpful for both children and parents alike.
We are an Outstanding (Ofsted Feb 2014) Church school, situated in the village of Idle on the outskirts of Bradford. Our school is in a modern building with extensive grounds and maintains high levels of staffing and support for pupils.
As a Church school we are distinguished by our provision of a quality education within a caring Christian environment; our recent Church school inspection awarded the school ‘outstanding ‘in every category recognising our commitment to Christian education, Worship and values, reflected by pupils’ feedback of feeling safe, secure and special in God’s love. Our reportedly ‘friendly, welcoming and supportive culture’ provides the perfect setting for pupils to succeed.
Our high academic standards recognised by OFSTED are as a result of pupils’ consistently outstanding achievements each year in academic subjects by the end of year 6. Such outcomes reflect our commitment to challenge all pupils to achieve their full potential and experience success within our supportive culture.
Outstanding sports, music and performance arts provision complements pupils’ academic success and is delivered by specialist staff, often to class sizes of 15 pupils, resulting in all pupils learning to play several musical instruments and over 80% having additional music tuition. All pupils attend at least one of our 40 school clubs; many pupils enjoy several clubs and grow in confidence as they perform in regular sports competitions or on the stage each Friday during our celebration assembly which is attended by many parents and to which you are most welcome.
Our wide range of visits and visitors for every class each term, including annual residential experiences in every KS2 class reflects our commitment to pupils developing confidence, independence and self-esteem and our passion for making learning, experiential, enjoyable and exciting.
I thank you for taking an interest in our school and very much look forward to starting a seven year educational journey together should you wish to choose Idle CE (A) Primary School for your child.
